Eric Omeasoo Forever 13

Information is listed in chronological order

Eric Omeasoo came from a large, loving family. He was a son, brother, grandson, great grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, friend, and teammate. He was Oji-Cree and a member of the Samson First Nation, he will forever be remembered for his humor, bright smile, and caring nature. Growing up in Edmonton's Riverdale Neighborhood, he attended St. Theresa Elementary for grades K-6 and St. Alphonsus for grades 7 and 8. Eric loved sports, with hockey and basketball being his favorite. He enjoyed learning about luxury cars, hand drumming, and singing. He was also developing his taste in music and fashion, with blue being his favorite color. At just 13 years old and in grade 8, his life was tragically cut short when he died a violent death. The Edmonton Police Service has not charged his killer, MICHAEL LUCIER, 35. There is a call for Justice for Eric as his loved ones remember him.

Eric’s Jacket

On February 20, 2025, the Edmonton Police Service released Eric Omeasoo’s clothing to his family. They aimed to honor their cultural practices by performing a Ceremony for Eric. During the smudging of his clothes before the Ceremony, they discovered multiple cut marks on his clothing, including his jacket. Notably, the cut marks on his jacket aligned with the wounds they had observed on Eric’s back while dressing him for his wake and funeral. These discrepancies do not correspond with any information that was provided to the family by the Edmonton Police Service.
To this day, they have not received acknowledgment from EPS regarding these marks, which are marked by EPS evidence markers..

NARRATIVES

The narrative surrounding Eric Omeasoo has severely harmed him and his family. Since the day after Eric was killed, the Edmonton Police Service has maintained a tight grip on the public’s perception. CTV Edmonton exemplifies how narratives operate and the significant power they hold …

25 Year Ban

After receiving inconsistent and limited information from the Edmonton Police Service, Eric Omeasoo’s grandma, who was his guardian applied for access to the CCTV footage. This request came after she was denied a private viewing to understand how Eric was killed and why no one was being charged. Additionally, she encountered responses from EPS like, “Some things are just for us to know,” noticed stab marks on Eric's back and jacket, and heard bystander accounts that he was chased. The Edmonton Police Service responded approximately one hour after the request was submitted and placed two bans, sparking a call for Justice for Eric.

Deception and Exploitation

Six weeks after Eric Omeasoo’s death, his family reached out to MMIP INVESTIGATIONS LTD/ MMIP FAMILY MATTERS for assistance. On May 11, 2025, they discovered that the president, Lucy 'Vawn' Jeddry, had submitted falsified information, including psychic readings, to the Crown Prosecution office without the family's knowledge. Furthermore, it was concluded that Private Investigator Don MacMillan was playing dual roles with the Edmonton Police Service (EPS). Their actions undermined Justice for Eric, ultimately favoring the justification of Eric’s killer’s actions. Meanwhile, they were using Eric’s story to solicit donations and in presentations, all without consent. Why?

HOMOCIDE: When a human being kills another human being

Email from Florence Shone clarifying no active homicide investigation into Eric Omeasoo's death.

Eric Omeasoo’s family reached out to the Family Information Liaison Unit (FILU) for support. They provided their intakes and shared all the information and evidence they had gathered regarding Eric's case.
However, FILU cites after consultation with the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) and the Crown, their request for services was declined due to a cited 'no homicide determination' in Eric's death.
The purpose of the Family Information Liaison Units is to assist families like Eric's, to assist and advocate in the Judicial system.

The family really understood at this point how Eric’s death not being “homocide” internally blocks them from any and every resource to get information about their child’s death.

Journey To Truth

Eric Omeasoo’s family has faced numerous barriers, bans, and blocks in their pursuit of the truth regarding what happened to Eric. Despite these challenges, they remain resilient and persistent in their journey for justice.

Unfortunately, there has been very little community and public support.

Where is the outcry and outrage that a child was killed by an adult, and no charges are laid…? The call for justice for Eric continues.

We Just Want Answers…

Michael “Dallas” Lucier, 35

Mikaelah Hudson, the 32-year-old woman at the station who was allegedly attacked, speaks to Eric Omeasoo's grandmother, who was his guardian, and his aunt Chasity. Chasity wanted to confront Mikaelah after she saw a Facebook statement by Mikaelah that made serious, false allegations against Eric. On their way to grab coffee, Eric's grandma and aunt happened to pass by Mikaelah early in the morning.

Michael “Dallas” Lucier, 35

Michael “Dallas” Lucier, 35

Lucier describes his interaction with Eric Omeasoo at the moment he fatally wounded him. He explains that his intentions were to "keep him back" and that he accidentally struck Eric's heart, intending only to cut his arm.

A few days after this incident, a witness submitted video footage to Eric’s aunt, Chasity. The video captures the last moments of Eric’s life, including when Lucier fatally wounded him, chased him, and features AUDIO that clearly states his INTENT TO KILL. This footage also shows Eric ALONE, with his back against a wall, facing TWO MEN, one being Lucier and another unidentified man. This second man has not been disclosed to Eric's family or the public, and the Edmonton Police Service will not acknowledge him when asked. The community continues to seek Justice for Eric.

25 TO LIFE - Access denied

Edmonton Police Service has banned Eric’s family from accessing even the simplest records about Eric’s death and investigation.

This request wasn’t complicated, it was for:

  • Detective and investigative notes (acknowledging and accepting redactions in all involved parties privacy)
  • Body-worn camera footage of the officers who found Eric’s body concealed under the LRT platform
  • Witness statements and civilian evidence
  • Who were the officers involved in Eric’s investigation

Within an hour of placing the request EPS approved the request then reversed it claiming Eric’s case is before the courts, which it is NOT, then they cite  “possible prosecution”… Within this, EPS has essentially given themselves a lifetime leverage over the family. As long as they never lay charges, they can always claim that charges remain “possible”…

25 YEARS TO LIFE

NOT for Eric’s killer Michael Lucier, but for Eric’s family to know the truth!

Unfortunately, all of the legal counsel we have connected with thus far are unable to take this on “at the time”…
